Phase 1

Foundation & Artistic Development (Months 1–6)

The opening half of the year focuses on establishing a strong technical and creative base:

  • Training in contemporary dance, hip-hop, physical theatre, and text-based movement
  • Exposure to Avant Garde’s distinct choreographic style and ethos
  • Mentorship from Avant Garde Dance principals and invited industry leaders
  • Intensive workshops on composition, improvisation, and storytelling
Phase 2

Creation & Industry Integration (Months 7–12)

The second half of the course immerses dancers in high-level creative practice and professional preparation:

  • An International Creative Retreat for cultural exchange and global networking
  • Opportunities to create and present live and filmed work with professional support
  • Exploration of dance-technology integration, including film production, immersive media, and interactive performance tools
  • Development of portfolios, audition strategies, and entrepreneurial skills

Looking to advance your career in dance?
AG2 offers a program for young creatives to develop their skills and prepare for the professional industry.
Here’s what to expect:

During this 1-year programme, participants will receive expert support and mentoring on how to progress in the industry, as well as regular intensive training to understand the unique dance language and creative methodology of Tony Adigun and Avant Garde Dance, through the fusion of hip-hop, contemporary, and physical theatre.

This programme has been designed for a strictly limited number of participants, allowing us to maximise the impact felt by each participant, and open them up to what it is like working within a touring, artist-led dance organisation.

Dani

Dani’s work is heavily focused on intrepid movement, performance intensity and honouring artistic integrity.

He reforms and restructures movement from many dance styles to create a unique and distinctive dance language.

AG2 // COMPANY G.O.T.F​ -

STEFANO

Stefano’s focus is finding the Grand, Epic and Majestic character within your movement while further developing individual vocabulary and discipline.

He draws from his influences in Hip-Hop/Contemporary background as well as playing on the strengths of the artists in the room to create a unique collective piece.

AJANI

Ajani focuses on the music as his initial stimulant for creation. Exploring an integral correlation between the polyphonic rhythmic structures and movement.

Ajani’s aim for AG2 is to celebrate and integrate each company member’s abilities, whilst refining their musical awareness with textures and articulation.

EMMA

Emma pulls choreography from an elemental place: often water-like and experimental. Regardless of the style and concept, Emma often plays with the vision of a broken doll, chic yet vulnerable, ethereal yet grounded.

She also works to refine and progress the use of floor work in the company, particularly with musicality, attention to timbre of sounds and dynamic range. .
