Avant Garde is looking for unique dancers with experience in Hip hop and Contemporary to join our stage show cast this autumn.
With national and international dates on the calendar, we’re auditioning for a variety of roles. We’re looking for unique and daring movers full of musicality and individualism who embody the Avant Garde values of virtuosity, collaboration, innovation and risk.
We know dancers are busy souls so we’ve set a weekday and a weekend audition date. Please select the date that works best for your schedule. Each audition date has a recall in the afternoon.
Avant Garde supported dancers, rehearsals and shows are paid above Equity Itc rates.

Avant Garde is looking for a touring technician to oversee the national tour of our exciting new outdoor work Scrum across Spring/Summer 2022. Scrum will be visiting some of the UK’s biggest and most exciting outdoor arts festivals. The main part of the set is a Scaff tower with customisable, removable panels.
Avant Garde Dance Company is at the forefront of London’s innovative Hip hop/ Contemporary Dance scene. The company was founded in 2001 and is led by Artistic Director Tony Adigun.
Successful applicants must be available for all performance dates and selected rehearsal and filming dates.
The current dates:
Rehearsals: Monday 4th April – Friday 8th April (selected days only)
Filming: Monday 11th April – Thursday 14th April (selected days only)
(The technician wouldn’t be required for the whole rehearsal and filming period, but ideally would have some availability within this time)
Strike a Light Gloucester: Friday 29th April & Saturday 30th April
Brighton Festival: Saturday 14th May & Sunday 15th May, 2 shows each day 3.30 & 6.30
Norwich & Norfolk Festival: Saturday 21st May & Sunday 22nd May,
Salisbury Festival: Monday 30th May, 5pm and 7pm
Greenwich & Docklands International Festival: Saturday 27th August
Lowry Festival, Salford: Sunday 11th September (Medium Pencil)

Terms of engagement: Voluntary
Commitment: There are 4-5 Board Meetings per year, held in the evenings lasting about 90 minutes. We ask that all Board Members also attend some of Avant Garde Dance Company’s events. Chair, Treasurer and any sub-committee appointments will include further involvement
Location: AGDC are based at Theatre Deli, 2 Finsbury Avenue, London EC2M 2PA, however we anticipate Board Meetings will be held remotely for the foreseeable future.
