About the Films
Dance is a crime. We should have seen it coming. We spent the first two decades of the new millennium gripped by fear.The war on terror, financial turmoil, climate change, and global pandemics, an anxious public turned to big tech and invasive surveillance for a safety blanket – but at what cost? S.C.R.U.M. immerses you amidst riotous protest; as a rabble of young digital natives confronts a powerful regime, the question is, will they rebel or conform?
One film, two versions
S.C.R.U.M. The film, exits in two original versions , VR180 High Definition & 16:9 High Definition Widescreen (release date, March 2023 tbc) , each offering a unique twist on the narrative and a distinctly different dynamic viewing experience.
The VR180 High Definition version of the film invites you to enjoy a unique viewing perspective as you find yourself right in the middle of the performance which takes place around your. The dancers feel close enough to touch, and the characters, choreography and narrative take on a whole new dimension.
Use your Smart TV, Laptop or iPad device to view this version, or for a truly immersive VR experience, view via a smartphone and Smartphone VR headset holders such as Google Cardboard or Samsung Smartphone Headset. When accompanied by headphones, this adds surround sound to the experience.
Smartphone headset devices are widely available and can be purchased new or second-hand for as little as £1 from reputable high street and online retailers such as CEX, Argos, Amazon and eBay. Audience members with Quest, Hive, PlayStation or Vive headsets can also access the film via the Youtube VR app for a rich, immersive experience.
The second version due for release later this year comes in 16:9 High Definition Widescreen format, audiences will enjoy fluid motion Steadicam* shots, spectacular sharpness and cinematic depth of field only achievable with high-quality film lenses. The film is finished with the fast-paced, choppy multi-camera, multi-angle cuts enabled by the flexibility of conventional film editing. Audiences who are used to high-quality cinema-style viewing will be delighted and feel at home with this format.
